Lokum fest
music & tradition

The festival is held every year in the third week of July, in the heart of the old Turkish bazaar in Bitola.

Multiculturalism and tolerance

The multiculturalism and tolerance between different ethnicities characteristic of the Ottoman period is also expressed in the customs between the people, especially those between the bazaar guilds.

As such a custom, a symbol of the openness and multiculturalism of the bazaar is the custom of treating the neighbor and well-wisher with Turkish delight and coffee. We took that custom as a synonym for a "meeting" between different cultures and ethnicities.
